The Cleveland Indians are a really good baseball team. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say excellent or to predict that they will win a World Series in the next handful of years. There is no doubt that they will be high in the Central standings for the next handful of years.

The same goes for the Twins. Minnesota is a good squad that might just be a step behind Cleveland, but a playoff contender. The competition drops off really quickly after Minnesota.

The Detroit Tigers are in the awkward phase between being old and rebuilding. The Tigers hired a good manager in Ron Gardenhire, but he comes with his faults as Twins fans are well aware of. Detroit shouldn’t be an issue for the next couple of years.

The Kansas City Royals were solid the past handful of years but free agency is going to deplete their talent this offseason. The Chicago White Sox will be down again while they are in the middle of a rebuilding project.

Baseball is a weird sport, so who knows what teams are going to pop up and compete in 2018. Regardless, it looks like the Twins will have a clear path to be fighting with the Indians atop the division and that is something to be thankful for.
