Byron Buxton

Some things that teams should be thankful for are the most obvious. Byron Buxton might be the most obvious player a team could be thankful for and for good reason. Buxton has great tools and keeps improving with every game he plays.

Frankly, there are multiple things about Buxton that we could be thankful for. Buxton’s defense alone is worth an academic research paper. He’s probably the best defensive presence the Twins have ever had and that is saying something with the likes of Torii Hunter, Kirby Puckett, Joe Mauer and Jim Kaat.

Buxton also improved his game at the plate this past season.  If Buxton continues that trend, he’ll be competing for the American League MVP award. Heck, he already received MVP votes for this past season.

Buxton isn’t a perfect player, but he doesn’t have to be just yet. Buxton is tremendously fun to watch and will be for years to come, so that’s something simple to be thankful for right now.

Be thankful for Buxton because he is the future of the Twins franchise. Soon he will be your leadoff hitter and the quarterback of the defense. Not many teams have a Byron Buxton on their team so be thankful that the Twins have him.
