4. Carolina Panthers

Maybe I’ve been listening to too many talking heads and their hot take opinions on Cam Newton, but I don’t think the Vikings should be scared at all of him. Granted, the Panthers are the only team on this list that the Vikings have lost to this season, but it simply feels like Minnesota would have all of the advantages going into a rematch.

When the Vikings and Panthers matched up during the regular season everything was set up for a Carolina win. The Vikings were on their third straight road game, the great Viking receiving core had atypical drops, an Adam Thielen touchdown catch fell victim to the frivolous catch rule, the Vikings had a couple uncharacteristic defensive breakdowns… and the Panthers still barely won the game. In other words, everything went wrong for the Vikings and they still almost beat one of the best teams in football.

Carolina is a good team that deserves to be in the playoffs especially considering the tough NFC South division that they play in, but they simply aren’t as good as the Vikings. I’ll take the Vikings any day of the week in a rematch against the Carolina Panthers that would be held at U.S. Bank Stadium.
