I’ve mentioned this before, but it is something this is something that we need to drill into our heads until we can all accept it and then we make the whole world accept it. Maya Moore is really, really good at the game of basketball. So good that the Minnesota Lynx guard takes home hardware anytime that she takes the court.

The WNBA All-Star Game was played on Saturday and Moore kicked butt. Big time butt kicking, folks. A record setting butt kicking.

Moore was named the game’s MVP, which really isn’t a shock since she’s probably the best female player on the planet, but she did this while she scored 30 points which set an WNBA All-Star Game record.

She didn’t just put up points, Moore had a solid game all around. Moore pulled down six rebounds and notched five assists in 20 minutes of play.

Only Moore and the Phoenix Mercury’s Brittney Griner scored over 20 points. Griner notched 21 which was highlighted by a breakaway dunk.

It was a high-scoring contest overall. The West, the team the Lynx supplies players like Moore to, beat the Eastern Conference by a score of 117-112. The West was down a point with under two minutes left, but Moore scored eight in the final 120 seconds to push the West ahead.

Seimone Augustus and Lindsay Whalen were also elected to the All-Star Game for the Lynx, but both were unable to play in the contest due to injury.

The Lynx start the second half of the season with two games at home. The first game is Wednesday against the Los Angeles Sparks. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 at Target Center.
