Minnesota Lynx Start Second Half Off With A Win
The Minnesota Lynx opened up the second part of the WNBA season on Wednesday and they did what they did so much of in the first half: win. The Lynx beat down the Los Angeles Sparks by a score of 82-76.
Wednesday was the first game of the WNBA season for Candice Parker of the Sparks who sat out the first half of the season to rest. Why? Well, these WNBA players play year-round between the WNBA and action overseas, mainly in Europe, and these women get paid more overseas… don’t get me started on how they are underpaid in the good ol’ U.S. of A.
Parker had a solid first game back on the WNBA hardwood nothing 12 points with nine assists and seven rebounds.
A Lynx player had a first of their own, Sylvia Fowles made her Lynx debut on Wednesday after being acquired from the Chicago Sky. Fowles scored 11 points with seven rebounds. Fowles was one of three Lynx players to score in double-digits.
The other two? You guessed it: Maya Moore and Lindsay Whalen.

Moore kicked butt again, no shock, with a game high 27 points and seven rebounds. Hutchinson native Whalen wasn’t far behind with 24 points and six assists.
Seimone Augustus missed the game due to having right knee surgery.
Fun with stats: Renee Montgomery came off the bench and led the Lynx with a +/- of +17. Montgomery only scored two points with an assist in 16 minutes of play.
The Lynx next play on Friday at home against the Atlanta Dream. Tipoff is set for 7:00 at Target Center.
