Minnesota Wild: Ticket Prices Released For Outdoor Stadium Series Game

If you like freezing your buns off, well, you probably already planned on heading out to the outdoor Minnesota Wild game coming up this season. If you want to go, hopefully you are ready to pay a healthy sum to get in the doors at TCF Bank Stadium on February 21.

In front of a press conference with league officials and the Wild themselves, the prices for tickets were released and it’s quite spendy. The cheapest ticket starts at $109 and the best seats will cost you $449 a crack.

The Star Tribune has a diagram of what seats are what prices.

The Michael Russo of the Star Tribune also points out that we cannot blame the Minnesota Wild for the rather high prices. The Stadium Series prices are universal between all of the different sites and the NHL decides what those prices will be.

The ticket does get you into the North Stars/Wild vs. Blackhawks alumni game before the matchup with the Chicago Blackhawks on February 21. There is not yet an on-sale date for tickets. Tickets will first go to season ticket holders and then be opened up to the public.

The outdoor game will give us a new sweater to buy, so we can fund the NHL. Those threads are not expected to be revealed today according to Russo.

An outdoor game is a cool idea, but it’s getting to the point where the NHL has oversaturated the product. It was neat when there was one outdoor game a year and it was on New Year’s Day, now that there are games on random days in February the uniqueness is completely gone.

I’ll be watching, but from home. Wrapped up in only one blanket.
